
Conserve Water
Last month the United Nations reported that the basic rights to safe drinking water and sanitation for billions of people will be affected by climate change. Over 2.2 billion people currently do not have access to safely managed drinking water, and 4.2 billion, or 55% of the world’s population, are without safely managed sanitation.
Here in El Paso the El Paso Water Utilities is challenged every day in helping to keep our water supply safe and reliable. Reports on the quality of our water are reported on their website. A dedicated team of professionals helps educate our city on how to conserve water by offering tips on conservation inside and outside the home.
The Zoo is committed to conserving this important resource in our community and uses reclaimed water for irrigation plus recycled water in our splash pad and flash flood exhibit.
